I've heard that we can pay impact and hookup fees in annual installments for new construction?
The council adopted a resolution allowing for the payment of
impact and hookup fees in six (6) annual
installments.
Impact Fees may be paid with the building permit. If the
impact fees are not paid, payments may be placed on the tax roll
and made in 6 (six) annual installments at an interest rate of
5.75% per annum of the unpaid balance. Impact fees not paid
when due shall bear interest on the amount due at the rate of 12%
per annum. Impact fees not paid when due shall be extended on
the tax roll as a delinquent tax and collected in the same manner
as delinquent real estate taxes.
Sewer hook-up and lift station fees may be paid with the
building permit. If these fees are not paid, payments may be
placed on the tax roll and made in 6 (six) annual installments at
an interest rate of 5.75% per annum of the unpaid balance.
Sewer hook-up and lift station fees not paid when due shall bear
interest on the amount due at the rate of 12% per annum.
These fees that are not paid when due shall be extended on the tax
roll as a delinquent tax and collected in the same manner as
delinquent real estate taxes.
All impact fees, sewer hook-up, and lift station fees, including
interest, will become due and payable if and when the property
title is transferred including conveyance by deed, land contract,
inheritance, gift or other means.
This resolution shall sunset December 31, 2013. Building
permits must be approved by the Zoning Administrator prior to
December 31, 2013 to be eligible for the installment payment
option. Building permits are valid for one year from the date
of approval by the Zoning Administrator.
