The Prescott water utility was established in 1914. Our
water is pumped from two aquifers: Jordan Sandstone and St.
Lawrence-Franconia. Our water is removed from these ground
water sources using three production wells located within the
City.

Our water department has one employee and we contract with
SL Serco Inc. for quarterly meter reading.
The Utilities' hardness of water is 24.3 grains per
gallon/416.4 parts per million. Other water facts:
- Fluoride 1.09 parts per million
- Chlorine .61 parts per million (residual)
- Iron less than .05 parts per million
- Flow rate .560 million gallons per day
- Chlorine and Fluoride are added to the water
Water pressure per square inch is dependent on where you live in
the city:
- Dexter and Glenridge - 57 psi static and 55 psi residual
- Walnut and Flora - 103 psi static and 98 psi residual
- Kinnickinnic and Second - 84 psi static and 81 psi
residual
- All readings were taken at the Water Tower at 22 feet
